As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:Jesus is at the center of our faith not only because He simply brought us salvation but because He also provides us with a more concrete embodiment of our Lord God.
Whilst God is with us forever, his power and depth also remain unfathomable. Jesus on the other hand, who may have departed His human flesh, left us nevertheless a human imprint of God’s majesty through which we may better understand and worship Him.
Through our human eyes, we glance up at Christ upon the cross, and through Christ, we see but the faintest and beautiful glimmers of what God in the beyond.I praise You, the only begotten Son Jesus Christ whose word was made flesh.
I praise You Lord God for sending down Your salvation unto earth, with a message of peace and hope for each and everyone. Within the trinity I uphold your holy names, thy Kingdom done, thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Amen.
Let me not resent your discipline, O Father, for I know that if you discipline me, it is only because you love me. Help me to want what you want for me, to desire the object of your discipline, which is to teach me your Word and lead me in the paths of righteousness for your name’s sake. Amen.Even as an earthly father who loves his children will chastise (discipline) them if he truly loves them and wants what is best for them, so also is our Heavenly Father. He does not condemn us like a judge in a courtroom, for there is no condemnation to those in Christ. His punishments of us are not legal, but parental. They are not required by “the rules, ” but are done as needed to help us grow and learn his ways of holiness for our good and his glory. And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: #blogs2u #autohash#Saginaw#UnitedStates#Michigan#tree#illustration#wood#outdoors#growth#cloud#creativity#business#abstract#flora#focus#Christmas#people#decoration#celebration
How often do you pray? I don’t mean a quick prayer at dinner. I mean really, really pray. For most Christians, I think it is safe to say that the answer is “not enough.” I would put myself in that category.
There has been a recent explosion in mindfulness and meditation. My phone app store is filled with new meditation apps, trying to teach you how to be mindful and to meditate.
I think that this is a great movement, although I also feel that Christians are not taught how to be similarly mindful. Paul sat in a jail cell for long periods of time, writing letters that became books of the Bible.
He certainly spent a lot of time praying, but I am certain that it is not in the same manner that we pray in church or at home. I imagine that it was for a much longer period of time, like these mindfulness apps try to teach, and that you entered the meditative prayer session with a clear question in mind. At the end of the prayer, which could take a while, you may have gotten closer to an answer.
The importance of prayer cannot be overstated. In Christ’s last moments before crucifixion, he was found in the garden with his disciples where he most liked to meditate in prayer (John 18:1-32.
The art of prayer is being lost, and you can see how much Paul values even the prayers of other people, for he knows the value that it has had for him. What value has it had for you?
So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. We will all die. There is no magic pill or treatment that will allow you to live longer.
Remember that your time is short and decide what You want to do with that time. You may want to consider using that time to seek and serve the LORD.
That is the only truly lasting thing that we can do with our time. It is our best use of it, and God is glorified by it.Heavenly Father, help me to remember that my days are short. Don’t let me waste my time on meaningless things.
Let me spend my time doing things that matter like serving You and worshiping Your name. Give me an internal clock that reminds me of my limited time, and give me the endurance to serve You with my time. In Jesus’ name.
Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life. Jesus has the words and truth to eternal life.
Eternal life is being with the Father, whom Jesus gives us access to. Knowing this to be true–if you know this to be true–how could you ever turn your back on Him? Where better would you have to go than with Jesus knowing that he is the way to living forever?
This still completely applies to us today. Will you follow Jesus? LORD, I know Jesus is the only way. There is no other place for me to go. You are the truth. I will serve Jesus heartily with my whole life.
Jesus is worthy of following, and there is no one else in the world whom I would rather bow down to. I will worship and serve Jesus all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name, who is the greatest one to follow. Amen.
Dear God, I pray that I will always take my body for what it is – a vessel for your glory. May my actions be a reflection of your glory, Lord, and never of darkness.
Father, I ask that you help me remain different to this world as I choose to follow you and not what is deemed “popular opinion” by the world. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Our bodies are referred to as the ‘temple of the Holy Spirit’ because the Spirit of God resides within us. That means we need to treat our bodies with the love and respect they deserve.
In everything we do, let it be honorable. May the things we do with our body glorify God and not counter His ways. We are not to become one with the ways of the world, but rather, we are to let our minds be transformed so that we are in line with Christ.
