Let us think of Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love. Philadelphia is a great city, filled with passionate and hard-working people, was an important center in early American history, and is known for its tough and straightforward citizens.
There is a bit of irony in calling it the city of brotherly love. There are few places in America with a populace of sharper-tongued and strong individuals.
Let’s examine these verses and see how we can learn to be more in touch with our emotions by becoming more in touch with God.
Firstly, we must love one another, even strangers. Everyone is going through their own trials and tribulations. Next, marriage is the backbone of a healthy society, and is perhaps evidenced by the crumbling state of our moral codes today.
We should not covet because it corrodes not only our relationships with others but also the things we already have. When we envy others, it makes us devalue what we already have and not give thanks for what the Lord has provided.
Lastly, if we do all of these things, we will never be afraid of bullies, never be afraid of the sharp-tongued Philadelphians, never be afraid of our fellow men. We would live in peace, our energy would be spent giving thanks to God, living in a world of brotherly love.
There is a time and place for everything, and having the emotional intelligence to understand when and how to act is important. Empathy is an important and learned attribute, one that nobody displayed more than Jesus Christ. Observe the people around you and be in touch with their emotions so that you know when and how to act at the appropriate times.

I may not look like Superman But I am a hero in my own right You might think That I am not smart enough When you see me Chasing butterflies or even my own tail at times! But, you see, it’s just a facade All superheroes need a cover A fake identity to hide behind […]
I’ve been processing through my food issues a lot the past few days, and today I met with my counselor and realized that I have a very weird relationship with food. It has been drilled into me for so long that dieting is BAD and being anti-diet is the only way. Like, it has been […]
‘Extremes are easy. Strive for balance.’ – Colin Wright At the start of every year (well really the end of the previous one, on New Year’s Eve) I decide on a word that I’m going to try and embody for the next 365 days. This year, 2021, I chose ‘balance’. In fact, I was so […]
I’m always disappointed when a liar’s pants don’t catch fire. Every time you think about her, remind yourself that if she wanted to talk to you, she would. Don’t call her up and ask if she saw your texts, of course she did. She doesn’t just like you like that. Move on man. Then just […]
To my friend, When was the last time you did something for yourself? It might be selfish to say, but your first priority must be yourself in this world that raised us to think about someone else. Remind yourself about the things you love to do, the people you want to be with, and the […]
It is in our nature to be fearful of death: it is in our biological programming. Coping with missed opportunities and regretful actions is also a part of life.
When you reach the end of your life, how do you think you will feel about your time alive? Loves lost, missed encounters, job and financial woes, parenting decisions…the list of impactful decisions that one might reflect on and feel guilty about is long.
We often take for granted the most important factor of all: Christ has already given us a second chance.
Christ resurrected, presents one of the most miraculous events in Biblical history. All Christians were given a second chance and shown the path; life towards death, death followed by eternal life.
Do you believe in Christ? If you can say yes to that, read these verses again. You shall never die! Life on Earth is not the end.
It can be filled with mistakes, regrets, and pain but it is a brief moment before everlasting peace and glory. If you have heard the good news, how did you react?
Was it like Mary, immediately rising and going to Christ? Or was it a decision that you would like to do differently? It is not too late my friends! Go forth to love the Lord, to love people, and leave everything else, to God! #blogs2u
